WHAT IS TRANSPARENT PRESENCE CIC?

Transparent Presence CIC is a transgender and non-binary support group in Cornwall founded in 2019 and our aim is to build confidence and well-being through bringing the community together to provide support and guidance. We specialise in supporting gender diverse people, their partners, parents and families, recognising that everyone has their own journey to take and deserves to have this validated.

Our adult social support groups: 

1st Monday AJs Cafe & Bar (St Austell) 7pm

3rd Monday Ginger's Diner (Redruth) 6.30pm

TYP youth group once a month in various locations across Cornwall (events via the private Facebook page)

Vocal Presence Rehearsals:

Old Bakery Studios, Truro, Wednesdays, 7.30pm

OUR STORY SO FAR:

2018: Elliot designed our logo and we held our first adult support group in St Austell.

2019: The Transparent Presence CIC Business Ally Scheme was launched to signpost 'safe spaces' for the LGBTQ+ community. 

2021: We became a CIC and developed our Gender Diversity Awareness Training.

November 2021: We founded the LGBTQ+ inclusive choir, Vocal Presence directed by Annie.

October 2022: We secured National Lottery funding for Vocal Presence and our youth and parents support project called TYP and Mason was recruited as our Youth Worker!

January 2023: We secured FEAST funding for our Wings - Identities Taking Flight creative project.

March 2023: Our first Vocal Mix event showcasing the choir and LGBTQ+ performers @ The Old Bakery Studios.

June 2023: Vocal Mix 2 @ The Poly

July 2023: We hosted Building Balance (a wellbeing event showcasing ally businesses) 

February 2024: We were selected as the preferred training provider of Gender Diversity Awareness Training for NHS Cornwall.

March 2024: Ginger's Diner opens and becomes our second adult social support venue and an ally business. 

June 2024: Vocal Mix 3 @ The Royal Cornwall Museum

August 2024: Vocal Presence go on a road trip to the Hand in Hand Festival for LGBTQ+ choirs.
